Many countries around the world require acupuncturists to undertake compulsory training in ethics. For example, the NCCAOM has an established code of ethics that needs to be adhered to at all time. A code of ethics is a framework for approaching patient care and best clinical practice, while fulfilling legal obligations. While good conduct is a given for any health professional, the reality is that working in the community can lead to situations where the best way to proceed may not be clear.
This webinar covers a huge range of situations that an acupuncturist may face, and how to approach it – in accordance with the NCCAOM’s code of ethics.

Amanda Shayle is a TCM Practitioner and senior lecturer for the College of Chinese Medicine, London. She is Vice Chairman of The Acupuncture Society (ATS) which promotes integration of acupuncture into commissioned medical treatment pathways. Amanda continues to be a member of the Profession Specific Board (PSB) in respect of the Microsystems Acupuncture Register of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), and was involved in the creation of this register. Currently, she is also a founding board member of the British Acupuncture Federation, aiming to represent the diversity of acupuncture in the UK. Since 2004, Amanda progressively developed the Acuregan system of cosmetic acupuncture and teaches her techniques internationally. Amanda is passionate about high standards of acupuncture service and trains practitioners on safe and ethical clinical practice.
